GEAUX TEAL OVARIAN CANCER AWARENESS WALK HISTORY

The inaugural Geaux Teal Ovarian Cancer Awareness Walk was held in April of 2013 and featured 216 walkers. In 2014, just our second year, our premier event doubled to 446 walkers!

Our growth did not stop there. Our numbers grew to 532 walkers in 2015, 566 walkers in 2016 and climbed to an astounding 815 walkers in 2017. The 2018 walk was the first year we crossed 1,000 walkers! We set a new record in 2019 with 1,080 walkers!

Throughout the years, we have continued to focus on our founding mission: to raise awareness for women of all ages about the signs and symptoms of ovarian cancer. We are continually inspired by the hundreds of walkers who join us each April.

The 2020 Geaux Teal Ovarian Cancer Virtual Walk was held on Saturday, March 21. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, no walk was held in 2021. The 2022 walk was held on Saturday, April 2nd. More than 740 walkers joined us in 2022.

The inaugural Geaux Teal Ovarian Cancer Walk was held on April 20, 2013.

The 2018 Geaux Teal Ovarian Cancer Awareness Walk, presented by Woman's Hospital of Baton Rouge, was held on Saturday, April 21, 2018. 

BY THE NUMBERS:

  • 1,050+  =  Record number of walkers

  • 855 = Record number of pre-registered individual walkers

  • 95 = Record Walk From Home walkers

  • 95 = Record number of walk-up registrants
